Genus Smart Gas Meters (SKG16)

Genus Smart Gas Meters(SKG16) offers a high level of functionality, low power consumption, reliability and high flexibility with customized solutions. All the features of a smart postpaid meter that are required to fulfil customer requirements are available in SKG16.

Meter Interface Unit (g-Setu)

MIU i.e., the smart AMR-RF “g-Setu” is a gas meter retrofitting device that uses LoRaWAN communication and RF walk-by technology to collect the meter reading. It then communicates the gas consumption data to a software platform (HES). Further consumer mobile app can provided for the consumer to view consumption data on the mobile.

Features

  • Accurate and synchronized operation of MIU device with gas meter • Optical interface for local maintenance
  • IP65 ingress protection rating (IEC 60529)
  • Digital LCD display with the function specific symbols
  • Storage of Historic gas consumption data, feature to detect gas consumption above or below threshold values
  • IECEX, ATEX, PESO, WPC and RCM Certification
  • Facility to prevent reverse flow & reverse registration (As per cl. no. 6.6.4 & 6.6.5 of EN 1359:2017)
  • Supports for LWM2M (for NB-IoT only)

Smart functionalities:

  • Communication technology (LoRaWAN / NB-IoT)
  • Low power due to energy-conserving operations
  • Intellilog provides long-range communication between meters and gateways using LoRaWAN communication
  • Alarm for Magnet tamper, Device Removal, low battery
  • HES with yearly, Half-yearly, Quarterly, Monthly data analytics with variance analysis, exception reports 2 Intel Lög Genus Genus Power 1 With LoRa NB-IoT Technology

What are the advantages of installing a Gas meter ?

Accurate billing, efficient energy use tracking, and enabling the use of natural gas appliances.

Do Gas meters need calibration ?

Yes, periodic calibration ensures accuracy, usually performed by qualified technicians.

Do gas meters reduce pressure ?

Gas meters measure and monitor pressure but generally do not reduce it; pressure regulators may be used for that purpose.

How are gas meters measured ?

Gas consumption is measured in cubic meters or cubic feet

Does a gas meter need to be level ?

Yes, it’s recommended for accurate readings, but modern meters often tolerate slight variations.

How high should a gas meter be ?

Typically, at a height that allows easy access for reading and maintenance, complying with local regulations.

How long does it take to install a gas meter ?

Gas meter installation generally takes a few hours, depending on the complexity, accessibility, and local regulations.

How much will a new gas meter cost ?

Costs vary by , type of meter, and installation requirements.

What are Gas Meters ?

Gas meters are devices that measure the volume of gas consumed, crucial for billing and monitoring energy usage in residential and commercial settings.
